Brisbane – Harris Farm Markets

Harris Farm Markets is a family owned company that has been in operation since 1971. Their motto is “We’re for the greater goodness” and they describe their philosophy as “Better tasting produce from sustainable suppliers. Bigger value from unexpectedly bigger harvests. More variety from truly seasonal conditions. The highest quality which can only come from years of experience and a close relationship with farmers and their land.” There are 2 Harris Farm Markets in Brisbane and many more throughout NSW and QLD.

Their produce is gorgeous and seasonal, but they also have “Imperfect Picks”, a sustainable initiative that helps local farmers and producers sell their imperfect produce and the opportunity for customers to get perfectly tasty produce at a lower cost.

A large cheese department with a sense of humor!

Some of the prettiest flowers I saw anywhere!(Although, to be fair, it was just a couple days before Mother’s Day)

My favorite thing at Harris Farm Markets was their Milk Tap (something I’d never seen before, but have since seen it in most grocery stores in Adelaide).

If I lived within striking distance of one of these markets, I would travel a good distance, on a weekly basis, for produce, dairy and meat. On a side note, this market had Illy instant coffee – something I haven’t found anywhere else (yet!)

  1. […] Both of these markets were nice for a good selection of ready to eat food. Reddacliff was more centrally located and had a greater variety of vendors to choose from. But if I were only looking for raw food, like produce, meat, and dairy, I would probably skip these and go to Harris Farm Market. […]
