Sydney – Carriageworks Market

Carriageworks Market is everything I love about going to a local market – fresh, organic produce from local farmers, beautiful flowers, yummy ready to eat food with somewhere to sit down (this last seems to be a problem with most markets).

There were plastic crates placed throughout the market for sitting and gathering. There were also folding tables and chairs placed along the outside edge of the building (which I was very happy to see!)

Carriageworks Market wasn’t even on my radar until my daughter sent me a Food & Drink interview with Andy Hearnden, a New Zealand Chef, YouTuber and Cookbook Author, who recently moved to Sydney. One of the questions was Where’s the best spot to get groceries? and his answer was Carriageworks Market, so naturally I had to check it out!

The market has everything you’d need fruits, veggies, meat, cheese, and bread. They even had bunny-shaped crumpets for Easter.

And the flowers were gorgeous – made me wish I was staying longer so I could buy and enjoy them!

If it isn’t already apparent, I absolutely loved this market and would make it a regular Saturday morning excursion if I lived in Sydney.
